Mardi Gras weekend is THIS weekend!

The meeting was fairly brief, as we prepared for this weekend. We covered requirements for tandems, what everyone needs to remember to bring, who's bringing tents, and we organized drivers and passengers for the caravan leaving on Friday at 4:00.

Remember:

-to bring a photo ID

-Dress comfortably, wear tennisshoes.. or something that won't fly off your feet!

-Eat normally the morning of your jump (you won't feel sick in the air!)

-You may want to bring a fold up chair, sunglasses, flashlights, camera

-Bring money for food at Dale's or for out to eat

Video Services

There are professional photographers and videographers at the DZ.. it's a great way to document your first time in the air. Let us know if you're interested in one of these packages.

 BANFF

Remember the BANFF Film Festival is on March 25, and will replace our meeting. Tickets are $7.. It will be an exciting event and we encourage all to attend!!

Directly after the meeting, the First Jump Course was held in Sloan College. 

 The next meeting will be 25 February in Gambrell Hall room 250 at 7:00pm

This meeting was mostly about the upcoming Skydive Weekend: February 20-22 held at Skydive Carolina in Chester, SC.

In order to go on the trip and be eligible for Skydive Carolina discounts, you must pay your dues ($20 for new members or $15 for returning members).

Today was the last day to reserve a skydive for the Feb 20-22 weekend. In order to reserve a jump for that weekend, you must put down a deposit. $50 for a tandem and $100 for AFF. If you are a returning AFF student, you must schedule your own jump with Skydive Carolina! The number is 1-800-SKYDIVE or 803-581-5867.

 Our basic event weekend goes as follows:

-Carpool to Chester, SC on Friday night (if you can't make it then, some people will be carpooling Saturday)

-Set up Camp! (tents in the woods)

-Have a jolly good time eating, talking, playing games, and of course... SKYDIVING!

-Return Sunday afternoon/evening

Hmm... What should I bring?

-Sleeping gear (blankets or sleeping bag, pillow)

-clothes to jump, play, and sleep in

- FLASHLIGHT(s)!!!

-Toiletries (Toothbrush, deoderant, etc.)

There ARE showers so feel free to bring shower stuff! (soap, towel, flipflops, etc.)

-$$ for food at Dales (great food shack at the DZ), or pack your own food

(We will have some meals as a club, but not all of them)

-Something to entertain yourself, b/c there's a lot of down time!

(Frizbee, football, cards, homework, etc.)

Carpooling

 We also began to organize the carpool for there and back. If you were not at the meeting, PLEASE CONTACT US and let us know if you plan on attending, if you can drive and how many people you can take, when you plan to leave and return to Columbia, and if you need a ride.
