Skydive Weekend- It's here!

This weekend -March 20-22- will be our 2nd big skydive weekend of the semester. Deposits for that weekend were do at tonight's meeting. If you are a returning AFF student and haven't made your jump reservation yet, call the DZ asap! Below is some important information if you're making your first jump with us:

Registration Requirements for Tandem Jump

-must weigh under 225 lbs.

-Bring a photo ID! (drivers license will be best)

-must be at least 18 years of age

On the Day of your Jump

-Eat normally, you won't have that sickly rollercoaster feeling while you're in the air

-Dress comfortably (check the weather!) Bring closed toed shoes that will stay securely on your feet.

-DO NOT USE MAPQUEST to get to the DZ! I will be sending out directions via email and facebook. You can also find the directions on Skydive Carolina's website:

-You're booking time is your arrival time.

-Things you might want to bring include Camera, fold up chair, sunglasses, and a FLASHLIGHT if you are spending the night.

Video Services

Don't forget that Skydive Carolina offers the opportunity to have a video and still shots of your skydive. Contact us for more information and a price estimate. This is great for your first jump, and you get to watch your DVD about 30 minutes after your jump!

BANFF Film Festival

That awesome film festival for extreme outdoor sports is finally here! It is next week- March 25 at 7:00pm and will be held in the Russel House Theater. THERE WILL BE NO MEETING NEXT WEEK! You can still purchase a $7 ticket from the Outdoor Rec Office at the Strom gym. See you all there- it's going to be a breath-taking show!

These are the dates for our next big event weekend. It's closer than you think! Deposits for that trip were due at today's meeting. If you are a returning AFF student, remember to call Skydive Carolina (DZ) to schedule your own jump. The number is 803-581-JUMP.

Dues

Have you paid your club dues? Get them in to our treasurer, Doug Pavlowsky, so that you will qualify for great discounts at the DZ, get an awesome club t-shirt, and can share club food on trips. Dues are $15 for returning members (does not include another t-shirt) and $20 for new members (includes a t-shirt).

AFF FJC (First Jump Course)

Interested in learning to fly solo? You can begin the process by taking the Accelerated Free Fall First Jump Course! The next one will be held on March 18 @ 7:00pm (During the meeting). Bring your $100 deposit that night, which will go towards your first jump.

BANFF (Film Festival)

Don't forget about this extreme outdoor sports film festival. It will be held on March 25 @ 7:00pm in the Russel House Theater, and will take place of our meeting. THERE WILL BE NO MEETING ON MARCH 25! Tickets are $7 and can be purchased in the Outdoor Recreation Center at the Strom Thurmond. See you there!
